My family is from X country, but my percentage there is 0% or very low. How is that possible?

This happens for a few reasons. Adjacent regions can be genetically similar, so your DNA might cluster more strongly in a neighboring area. Genetic clustering doesn't follow modern borders perfectly. And family history can be more complex than records suggest β€” sometimes there are surprises when you dig into the numbers.

Remember, this report captures broad patterns over deep timescales, not a certificate for or against specific recent family stories. It's one data point among many.
