My file has extra markers that don’t match any named branch — what are those?

What unrecognized derived markers in your file are, and why we don’t assign them without confirmation.

Your file can carry additional derived markers that don’t correspond to any named branch in our current reference. These may be rare “private” variants unique to your line, and a few could sit on very recent branches not yet catalogued. We don’t assign them without confirmation, because we only place you on branches your markers actually support.

A dedicated Y-sequencing test (Big Y) or whole-genome sequencing can resolve them.
