Where does the data come from?

The open scientific resources behind your report — the AADR ancient-DNA dataset, a peer-reviewed mtDNA tree, and published ages.

The report is built from open, published scientific resources: the Allen Ancient DNA Resource (AADR), curated by the David Reich Lab at Harvard, for ancient individuals, together with a peer-reviewed mitochondrial phylogenetic tree and published molecular-clock ages. Every full report includes a Sources section crediting each dataset and study, with every ancient individual credited to its original publication.
