Why aren't there Caucasus samples in this report?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

The Caucasus region has a distinct genetic history tied more to Anatolia and the Near East than to the Eastern European plain. We deliberately excluded samples from Caucasus-adjacent areas because including them would introduce signals that don't represent Eastern European ancestry.

This report is laser-focused on the steppe-to-Baltic corridor story. Adding Caucasus data would blur that focus.
