On top of the overall distance ranking, the report shows specific stretches of your genome — measured in centimorgans (cM) — that you may share with particular ancient individuals. Longer shared segments point to a stronger or more recent genetic connection; shorter, more broken-up segments reflect older, deeper shared ancestry.
You can move the minimum segment-length threshold to focus on longer, higher-confidence segments, or include shorter ones that capture deeper population-level affinities. It complements the distance ranking by showing not just who you're close to overall, but where in your genome those similarities sit.
