What do the percentages mean in the region and era match sections?

Updated over a week ago

These percentages show how closely your DNA matches ancient reference genomes from specific time periods or regions. Era Match shows how similar your DNA is to ancient genomes grouped by time period (e.g., Viking Age, Iron Age). Region Match shows how similar your DNA is to individuals from specific geographic areas.

These scores reflect shared ancestry and genetic similarity at a population level β€” they don't mean you're directly descended from a specific person or group.
