Our system displays "child or parent" as a relationship label when two people share about 50% of their DNA. It could easily be a parent rather than a child. If you click on the label, you should see other possible relationships listed.
In some cases, unexpected parent/child matches can appear if either person uploaded a file from a provider that uses imputation (like Nebula or some WGS services). Imputed files can create false close matches. If you think a match is wrong, contact us and we'll investigate.
